What Anvay does, what it costs, and where the other names still win.
Somebody asked how Anvay compares rather than how it is described. Three answers first, then the numbers behind them, then the matrix most people arrive for, and every place we lose. Nothing below is a forecast, and the counts you read are counted from the tables on this page rather than typed into a sentence.
Should I move off Tally, Marg or Busy?
Yes, if your stock sits in more than one place or your purchase side runs on a second system. Not yet, if you have to bill with no internet — that is the first item in the gap list below, and it is not a small one.
What does the price actually buy?
Both halves of the trade: the invoice you send, and the purchase, the stock and the money owed behind it. The ₹212–570 apps do the first half. Free covers one location and one user, Starter is ₹399, and Growth sits ₹600 below the Zoho plan it is measured against.
What does it not do?
6 rows of the matrix go to somebody else, and 8 things in the market list are still open. Both are printed in full and neither is softened. If one of them is load-bearing for you, this is the wrong product, and the page would rather you found that out here.

What it does, day to day
The product in six rows. Each one is a job you already do, and what changes when Anvay does it.
The jobWhat changes
Raising a GST invoice
Every line carries its own rate and its own HSN or SAC code, the place of supply decides CGST and SGST or a single IGST, and the total the customer reads is the sum of what each line owes. No averaging, no second calculator, and no rework after the accountant has read it.
Moving stock between godowns
Several godowns under one login and one set of books, where a transfer is an entry with a sender and a receiver rather than a note in somebody's phone. Before you promise a delivery date you can see which godown is actually holding the goods.
Knowing who moved it, and why
Every inflow, outflow, transfer and adjustment carries the person and the reason. A month-end recount stops being an argument about memory.
Getting paid
Balances are bucketed by days past due, per customer, so collections begin with a list of names instead of a feeling. Part payments sit against the document, and the balance follows the document rather than a separate note.
Filing the return
GSTR-1 is prepared from the invoices already in the ledger, beside the sales and stock registers. The return stops being a second job done from a second sheet.
Handing the invoice to the customer
An invoice is a link. No account, no password and no app: the document and the payment options open in a browser.
Six rows nobody else in this set has
Read off the matrix further down when this page loads: six rows say Yes for Anvay and nothing but No or Partly for everyone else in the comparison. The claim is the matrix, so you can check it.
Your purchase bills, checked against the government's record
GSTR-2A and 2B are pulled in and matched against the bills you entered, so a supplier who under-reported or never filed surfaces before you claim the credit. Purchase-side reconciliation, not just sales-side filing.
Pay only for what actually arrived
The purchase order, the goods receipt and the supplier's bill are matched against each other, freight and duty are landed on the right line, and what you owe is aged by days past due. Zoho tracks bills; it does not match three documents.
Slab and BOGO schemes, applied at the counter
Trade schemes are set up once and applied while the bill is being written, so the discount the customer was promised is the discount the invoice shows. No reconciliation afterwards, and no margin leaking quietly through a manual override.
Access that stops at the shelf
Roles are scoped to a location. Warehouse staff see their warehouse, and another branch's accounts are not theirs to open. Competitors ship an admin flag and a user flag.
Bring Tally, Marg, Busy or Vyapar across
Masters import from whichever tool you are leaving, with the old reference kept on every row. The others import from Tally at best, and some only export to it.
Support that signs the register
If Anvay support needs to look inside your account, the session is recorded and written to the audit log against a name. Nobody else in this comparison offers that, and it is the reason a cautious owner can hand over access at all.
Where Anvay is not ahead
Eight conditions that decide deals before a feature list is read: four we chose, four still open. The matrix further down scores features; these are the terms of the decision.
Our choice
Working with no internet
Vyapar, Marg ERP
Anvay runs in a browser. If the line goes down, billing stops. A counter that cannot afford to lose an hour should not replace an offline till with it.
Our choice
A one-time licence
Marg ERP
Anvay is subscription only. Over a long enough horizon a perpetual licence can be cheaper on paper, and for Marg the arithmetic is set out above rather than hidden.
Our choice
Payroll
Zoho Books, through Payroll
Anvay does not run salaries, leave or payslips. It sits beside a payroll product rather than replacing one.
Our choice
A phone-first app
Swipe, Vyapar, myBillBook
Anvay is used in a browser. It is usable on a phone screen, but it was not designed app-first, and the three names here were.
Still open
A regional-language interface
Vyapar
The Anvay interface is English. That decides some buyers before a demo has started.
Still open
Accountant familiarity
Tally Prime and Busy, still the default in the ledger room
A chartered accountant reads a Tally export without being taught. Anvay has to earn that habit one return at a time, and it is behind on that even against tools it beats on features.
Still open
Field installers and local support
Marg ERP, and reseller networks generally
There is no installer in your city. Onboarding is self-serve, and self-serve is not the same thing as somebody setting it up for you.
Still open
Migrating a long history
—
Masters import cleanly and the old reference is kept on every row. Moving a decade of an old company file across is a project, whatever a page claims.
What it costs, beside its real equivalent
Each tier sits beside the closest thing to it rather than beside the cheapest thing in the market. The whole ladder is printed underneath, including the price that makes Anvay look expensive.
Tier

What is different
Free
₹0
Swipe free — unlimited invoices, watermarked · Vyapar free — ads on the invoice · Zoho free — one user · Refrens free — 15 documents a year
One location and one user, with a monthly invoice cap. Not a free-forever product: the two free tiers nearest it carry no cap, and they carry a watermark or an advertisement on the customer's invoice instead. No card to start.
Starter
₹399
Vyapar Silver ₹367 · myBillBook Diamond ₹291
At this tier the honest answer is not much. Starter is one counter and one location, and so are they. The separation starts at Growth, and this page would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
Growth
₹899
Zoho Books Professional ₹1,499
₹600 a month less, with stock across several godowns, the purchase side down to landed cost and payable ageing, and purchase bills checked against GSTR-2B. Zoho Professional has multi-currency, which Anvay does not — that stays on this page too.
Pro
₹1,799
Marg ERP Gold — ₹26,000 one-time, then ₹9,550–19,100 a year, plus ₹3,000 per extra user
The difference is the shape of the money, not the total. Marg can land cheaper over three years once the licence is paid for; it is also installed on a PC, quoted through a reseller and charged per extra user. Anvay is a monthly figure with nothing up front and no visit to schedule.
The whole entry ladder, cheapest first: Swipe ₹212 · myBillBook ₹291 · Vyapar ₹367 · Anvay ₹399 · Refrens ~₹500–700 · Zoho Books ₹749. Anvay is not the cheapest number on that line, and the four rows above say what the difference buys.
Turn the 90+ bucket into a call list
Nothing moves a reader faster than turning a figure they already own into a number of things they can picture. Both figures are yours, and both are printed above the answer rather than borrowed from a benchmark.

41invoices, at ₹3,43,284 each — which is ₹2,95,200 taxable plus ₹48,084 of tax across 18%, 12% and 5%, the same invoice drawn on the landing page. That is a call list, not a feeling.
Your figure ÷ your average · no benchmark, and nothing measured that has not been printed on this page

Eleven further things the Anvay column does are not scored in the grid, because no column beside it has an equivalent to score them against:
Tax split on every line
HSN and SAC lookup inside the bill
An invoice series per location
A ledger that keeps the user and the reason
A reorder point held against each SKU
Part payment recorded on the document
Credit notes that carry a reason
A public invoice link, no account needed
Ageing by days past due, per customer
Nothing to install, no server in the office
Published self-serve pricing
Competitor by competitor

Swipe
8 Yes · 8 Partly · 5 No
Where it is ahead
The lowest entry price in the set at ₹212, a phone-first app, and an online store, multi-currency and a Tally import kept behind its advanced plan. For a single counter it is the cheapest complete answer here, and its name is the one a first-time buyer searches.
Where Anvay is ahead
The purchase side and stock across godowns, which Swipe sells as a custom add-on; access scoped to a location; and a free tier whose invoice is not watermarked.
Vyapar
10 Yes · 3 Partly · 8 No
Where it is ahead
A phone-first app a first-time user can learn in an afternoon, an interface in regional languages, billing that works offline, and a large library of invoice layouts. It is the easiest product in this set to start using, and it is offline where Anvay is not.
Where Anvay is ahead
Depth behind the simple surface: ageing, credit notes, godown transfers, purchase orders, location-scoped access, and an invoice the customer opens without installing anything.
myBillBook
12 Yes · 2 Partly · 7 No
Where it is ahead
₹291 at Diamond and ₹570 at Enterprise, a native app, an online store, and godowns its pricing calls unlimited on the top tier. Nothing here matches that feature count for the money, and it is the vendor most likely to be quoted against a quote of ours.
Where Anvay is ahead
The purchase side and purchase-bill reconciliation, which no column beside Anvay does at all, plus roles scoped per location instead of a single admin flag.
Zoho Books
8 Yes · 5 Partly · 8 No
Where it is ahead
The deepest accounting suite here, with payroll, expenses and CRM behind it as paid siblings, multi-currency from Professional, and an accountant programme that has already done the trust-building Anvay still has to do.
Where Anvay is ahead
Godown-level stock and transfers inside the same ledger as the invoice, the purchase side down to landed cost, and a product shaped around a trader's day rather than an accountant's month.
Refrens
4 Yes · 1 Partly · 16 No
Where it is ahead
Free for fifteen documents a year, multi-currency and custom themes on every paid tier, and a service-business focus that makes it the fastest route for a consultant or an agency. It is a better product than Anvay for anybody who does not hold stock.
Where Anvay is ahead
Inventory, godowns and the purchase side, which Refrens does not do at all. For a trader this is not a two-horse race; for a consultant it might be, and the answer would change.
Marg ERP — the switching question, not the feature fight
Priced separately
When Marg is the right answer
Marg is installed on a PC, quoted through a reseller, licensed once and charged per extra user. If distribution depth at high volume or an installer in your city is what the business runs on, Marg is the better product and this page will not argue otherwise. Its entry licence is ₹5,550 and Gold is ₹26,000, both before GST.
When Anvay is
If what you want is your history without the installs, Anvay imports your Marg masters and keeps the old reference on every row, from any branch and without a reseller in the middle. That is the whole of the switch, and it is why the two are on one page.

Method, and what this page does not claim
The competitor cells are the written record of the Indian billing and inventory market dated , prepared from vendor pricing pages and kept with this project. This is not a vendor crawl. Vendors change prices and modules often and marketing material is not a specification, so treat every cell outside the Anvay column as directional and verify any row before you quote it.
Two things changed on this page after it was first written. E-way bill generation is included from Growth alongside IRN, so the row that used to read No for Anvay reads Yes. And there is now a free tier above Starter, which is why the plans table has four rows rather than three. Both corrections come from the product, not from a wish list.
What this page still does not claim: no load time, no throughput, no uptime and no accuracy figure, because none of them has been measured on a running deployment. Marg ERP is priced above and is deliberately not scored in the matrix, because its model is a one-time licence rather than a subscription and the brief this page is built on does not treat it as a like-for-like row.
Every count here is computed from the page when it loads rather than typed into a sentence: twenty-one rows, six where Anvay is not ahead, six nobody else has, eight gaps, and the five tallies on the competitor cards. A number on this page cannot drift out of step with the thing it describes, which is the one failure a page like this cannot survive.
Six rows nobody else in this set has
Purchase bills checked against GSTR-2B · pay only for what actually arrived · schemes applied at the counter · access that stops at the shelf · an import from whichever tool you are leaving · support that signs the register. Those six are the matrix, and the matrix is above.
